Purity Ring

Purity Ring

Electronic Pop Duo

Purity Ring’s self-titled fourth album marks a bold new era for the duo of Megan James and Corin Roddick. A concept album serving as the soundtrack to an imagined RPG, the record follows two characters on a journey to build a kinder world amid the ruins of a broken one. Roddick draws from his deepest musical memories to sculpt euphoric soundscapes of vintage digital synths, classical guitar, and breakbeats, while James delivers a joyous, dizzying stream of consciousness in her lyrics. With this self-released LP, Purity Ring steps into a vast, unrestrained dream that is entirely true to who they have become.

Since their emergence in the early 2010s, the duo has made a lasting impact on electronic pop through immersive production and groundbreaking visual live shows. Their debut, Shrines, earned Pitchfork’s Best New Music honors and was shortlisted for the Polaris Prize, while the breakout track "Fineshrine" achieved RIAA Gold status in the U.S. Over the years, they have continued to expand their sonic universe through high-profile collaborations with artists ranging from Danny Brown to Deftones.
